Debut album “Plunge for Distance” to be released on March 2!

It’s official, my debut album Plunge for Distance will be released on the 2nd of March! We will celebrate it with a CD-release party at Cornelia Street Cafe the next day, March 3. In case you haven’t heard it yet, check out the album teaser on soundcloud. The album features the talents of Ben van Gelder, Vitor Gonçalves (needs a website), Rick Rosato (doesn’t need a website, bass player) and Mark Schilders.

You might wonder about the peculiar album title so let me explain: “Plunge for Distance” was a 1904 Olympic event, where plungees would drop themselves into a pool and try to float as far as possible, until they ran out of breath. Needless to say, it was hardly a spectacle for onlookers and the sport never returned to the olympics again.

I hope to see you at the CD-release show! Martin Nevin will be playing bass because Rick is on tour, in spite of not having a website. The next show is at the 9th Note in New Haven, on May 9th. Adios!
